Newspapers and television programs are filled with
stories of how the current eating and exercise habits are leading to
a more obese and unhealthy nation. Research shows poor eating and
exercise habits are often established during childhood and are
continued into adulthood. Clinton County is not exempt from these
trends.
Clinton
County on the Move will hold an activity on Saturday, January 27
from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. During this
time, all area residents and their families are invited to attend a
free and open event at the Clinton County YMCA at 700 Elm St. in
Wilmington. Area agencies that provide opportunities for physical
activity or education on healthier living will have presentations,
table top displays, and a variety of activities. In addition there
will be tours of the YMCA facilities and organized walks on the new
Bicentennial Path. Walks will be hosted at 10:30 a.m., 11:30
a.m.,
and 12:30 p.m. All participants who register during the event will
be entered to win a variety of door prizes.
Please take a
moment to mark your calendar and invite your family and friends to
attend the
Clinton County on the Move kick-off on January 21, 2003
at 10:00 a.m. Committee co-chairs Bob Derge, Clinton County Health
Commissioner and Susan Holladay, OSU Extension Agent for Family and
Consumer Science Education in Clinton County, and all of the
